Awards are an expression of recognition for superior performance, but they are also an important educational tool. These awards give us a chance to focus our attention on Idaho’s broad range of architectural activity. By highlighting exemplary architectural work from the diverse regions of the state, we hope to inform and elevate the general quality of architectural practice and establish a standard of excellence against which all architects can measure their performance. In addition, these awards will help provide for us a forum for addressing a public audience, giving concrete examples of design excellence and thereby increasing awareness of the benefits of good architectural design.

A project may be entered in more than one category, but separate entry and submission is required for each additional category beyond the first category entry (i.e.: Project X may be submitted separately for Commercial, Sustainable and Best Use of Idaho Wood Commercial with a separate entry and submittal in each of those three categories).

Eligibility Criteria

  • All entries must be completed between January 1, 2011 to present.
  • All projects must be designed by an architect licensed in the state of Idaho.
  • Project does not need to be located in the State of Idaho.
  • The architect must reside and practice in the state of Idaho.
  • All “Joint Venture” or “In Association” submissions are eligible to Architects or Architectural Firms where both or all firms practice and reside within the state of Idaho regardless of which firm acted as or performed the majority of the Primary Design. Credit should be given to those firms that act as the Lead Designer.
  • Projects previously honored by an award in this program are not eligible for entry.
  • Projects previously submitted for consideration to the awards program (and did not receive recognition) may only be submitted a maximum of (2) times and are then ineligible.
